Hmm. Interesting. Thanks for EVE Mobile ISK being so specific. My algorithm is probably seeing a lot of the huge orders that are still down at the 70-75 range and over-indexing on these. I think that adding in the actual”highest buy price with a large quantity” would be more useful if I could update the info very often, but at the present rate of updates there is likely going to be a lot of fluctuation there. But I’ve been considering weighting buy orders more if they are for higher costs so that those big orders that are significantly more affordable than the highest ones don’t bring down the price too much. Does that make sense?
So my premise is you are currently considering all past orders’ costs as a factor in your current buy area, right? Consider my assumption correct. Ideally, the costs taken into consideration should only be those past X period from now (e.g. only consider prices from the past 2 days as the current purchase price). Maybe this will keep the data more”new” and up-to-date as I really don’t know what mechanism there is to procedure older data. What is your take on this (again, believing my assumption is right )?
In terms of your suggestion to burden higher-price-buy orders, I think that it may work so as to not”dredge” the actual price we’re looking for down to a cost we definitely won’t be selling the item for.
Or, a different suggestion of mine would be to give more weight to get orders which have a”large quantity”. How do we understand how many is considered”large volume”? Perhaps there’s a method to process older purchase data so as to predict the customary amount of amount a boat manufacturer desire (in my case, planetary resources is only used for ship manufacturing). This way, purchase orders with a quantity closer to the”predicted amount” have a higher weight. Still, you’d need some way to weed out orders that are considered abnormal (I think there is some specific statistical rule to find out whether a datum is abnormal). Just thinking out loud.
One more thing you can likely do is to provide less weight to costs from buy orders that need a”significant” amount of time to be fulfilled. Again, how much is important? Maybe there is a way to figure the”called time” a buy order for this kind of thing needs. It’s a fantastic idea and very nice job, but cheap eve echoes isk I don’t believe you can do this in a legit way beneath the present TOS.
