The main dilemma OSRS has is that it is (effectively) an aggressive single player game using a RS gold rigid global meta and mechanics for gamers to trade USD for best in slot equipment.
I agree with you concerning it being well designed though naturally it’s lacking in some respects (hint scrolls, relics not all well-balanced). I didn’t state the ONLY reason TL is fun is due to its relative speed in contrast to main game. That is a massive part of it though; TL doesn’t and debatably could not exist in a vacuum.
I think each game style has it’s place — chief game enables you to do things in which you desire, TL let us you do them when you would like. They work together well and I like things the way they are.
An aggressive skilling scene would not exist if it were not for the comparatively slow xp rates and difficulty in progressing your character to ascend.
I really do see why some players might not be interested at the skilling/levelling part, if they are more into pvm/pking/socializing. But grinding abilities is a core part of the sport which many enjoy.
I am not saying 07scape does this flawlessly, or that things are more balanced, but it’s 100% clear 07scape, like many other MMORPG’s, is far from a skill-based match, or a instant-action kind of sport.
We don’t have constant action-packed fights, in which one misclick, dodge, missed skill, or 0.3 seconds late media of your R-key can make or break a 5v5 teamfight, such as in League of Legends.
We do not have many clutch minutes, including in Battlefield / CoD, in which a tactical decision and positioning of buy OSRS gold Claymore traps paired together with your position can get you through a 1v4 successful.
