Runelite HD is a mod (made by a single player (117) that utilizes Old School RuneScape and gives it an HD revamp OSRS Gold. In the year in the year 2018 Jagex had issued legal threats against mods that were similar to this, saying they were copyright infringement. However, these appeared to have blown over as Jagex gave their blessing to runelite’s creator Runelite.
But earlier in the week, just hours before the improved Runelite HD was due for an official release The 117 team was contacted Jagex asking that the work cease immediately and that the release should be pulled. However, this time it’s not down to copyright concerns, but rather because Jagex says they’re making themselves an HD upgrade.
Although this may sound like fair at first, there’s actually a significant issue. Runelite HD doesn’t actually seem to break any of Jagex’s modding guidelines, and the company says that new guidelines that spell out the fact Runelite HD does actually break its policies will be announced this week.
Mod creator 117 says they attempted to bargain with Jagex, even offering the possibility of taking down their mod once the company had finished it and had released its own work However, “they declined outright,” possibly indicating the end of a process which took “approximately over 2000 hours over two years.”
The games will draw inspiration from the characters, adventures and locations from RuneScape’s extensive 21-year history playing on a board comprising between one and five players on quest-based quests through Gielinor.
They’ll craft and upgrade equipment, enhance their characters prepare special meals, engage in conversation with NPCs to test their abilities while exploring different regions of the globe buy rs3 gold, and with many exciting side quests designed to divert and keep them entertained on their journey.
