Abolish or I am certainly not advocating to RuneScape gold ignore the polling system and it is a useful tool in holding the devs to account. On the flip side, the polling system doesn’t function and requires flexibility or improvements to meet the needs of their player base. When 99% of articles is left to decide, I can’t agree with the exaggeration on your post about the disregard of polled things. It’s important to be aware that the occasions when Jagex have believed they needed to diverge in the result that is polled, it was because they felt compelled to by the issues with the voting system.
The VLS addition is a obvious and current example of this: Jagex poll minor PvP changes/updates which don’t pass and don’t believe the neighborhood are currently evaluating the material on goal merit. This means Jagex accept that PvP buffs/content will not ever pass polls or perform them anyway. Polls either have to become a) pitched to individuals who actively engage in or understand that the appropriate content, b) taken as powerful advisement rather than gospel, c) lower threshold, or d) simply make more integrity adjustments.
While sometimes a developer has missed something significant and players can assist them–because it’s the players that actually play Runescape–that the participant base frequently makes really dumb decisions because they don’t actually spend much time considering what a change could do, they don’t have some development experience, and they’re often quite self-interested. In the case of all OSRS, the gamers have absolutely vetoed bad thoughts multiple times before, but they also have vetoed great ideas, and also the absolute dumbest ideas generally aren’t the things that make polled, they are the things which get suggested and upvoted right here on the subreddit.
I think way too. But I don’t mind the notion of giving more control to the OSRS team. Because apart from PvP stuff, and some dividing upgrades like a ability. I feel like that they already have a lot of freedom to design content anyway. It is not like everything they poll gets taken down. Like if they polled DT2, menaphos and raids 3 tomorrow it would all pass without it even being close. Sounds like more of a reason to maintain the polling system. The upgrades which are liked will pass. The upgrades a good portion of the player base dislike will not pass.
Another thing is because something neglects a poll does not mean it can’t be reworked by them and repoll it. What’s great about situations like that is they will find a good deal of feedback from gamers and correct the content before adding it into Runescape. Then a group of players will be marginalized for wanting another skill or for being Pkers as someone said though. Eventually they will become jaded and depart Runescape, which I am sure Jagex does not want. I honestly voted for the poll system but with voting involving the groups that participate in it and Jagex gaining power. As a pker and cheap RS gold somebody who enjoys pvp I feel that is my only alternative.
