I had this idea the other day. The wilderness is a place filled bringing mice to buy RS gold consume them. Cats hang out there because they understand the mice will be a simple meal if they could catch them. What if pkers and pvmers were like sharks and dolphins? 1 shark will beat a single dolphin, but the dolphins counter it by group up, only being beaten by groups of sharks. I’m just spitballing here, but imagine if being unskulled makes you being skulled, and attackable by a single individual at a time allows you to be dogpiled?
Add some kind of target switch timer which prioritises special objectives so for instance if 1 pker strikes 5 pvmers they could overpower him, however if a different 3 pkers combine in they could every single off among the pvmers to conserve the original pker from being dogpiled. Switch it. Obviously the pkers are still at an advantage since they attracted pvp centric gear and have complete inventories, which is a good thing as of course pkers should nevertheless have some predatory advantage. This idea very likely needs a lot of work and possibly some other modifications to the wilderness but I think big changes like this are expected to make the wilderness an actual healthier place.
Jagex doesn’t care, it understandable. Exploits like this are driving the cost of bonds to record highs, resulting in the immediate payment of membership to develop into a more positive option for casual players. The”neglect” seems to be deliberate. Bonds and membership are the only way Jagex can monetize through OSRS. Without a incentive Runescape will likely disappear expected. Every bond that is purchased comes from somebody who paid real life cash for it though, so it isn’t like it’s coming out of thin air. But I agree complete.
Firstly I’d like to say I have never done much pvp in runescape in the last couple of years, which mainly has to do with the steep learning curve enclosing pvp, and also the time needed to build a seperate pvp account. I am still intested as I see pvp video. Many individuals here claim the problem is people abusing the system, but is it not the system which is to blame? Boosters only boost because there’s so much to gain from doing so free of risk.
I feel as a solution is both in a nerf, the gp each hour bonus from this point process is just to high, and in adding a risk versus reward incentive. This risk vs reward system’s execution is to create points transferable upon passing. Points should lead to better rewards the more you safe up them, but this means you have more to lose if you were to die. For instance you can trade in 20 points for 100 and 600k points or even 5 points for 100k for 5mil.
Make it so if you were to only spend things since you get them reward you about 600k one hour if you were to pile points and choose the maximum tier rewards you would get about tipple that, or anything else is on par with high end pvm. The risk versus reward issue isn’t just a pvp thing tho, it’s also a problem in pvm (bossing) as if the death mechanisms. Having 30 minutes to cheap rs3 gold retrieve your gear means you get it back, therefore there is no danger in pvm.
